Abstract

INTRODUCTION: The present study deals with the social representations of a granddaughter on the coexistence with two grandmothers weakened by Alzheimer's disease, neurodegenerative, such as forgetfulness, behavior and mood changes, motor problems, which triggered conflicts and family restructuring OBJECTIVE: to analyze the social representations of a granddaughter by living with her grandmothers weakened by Alzheimer's disease METHODOLOGY: It is a descriptive, exploratory study of the type of experience of a granddaughter on the social representations through the coexistence with the grandmother diagnosed with Alzheimer's EXPERIENCE REPORT: It was described the historical route referring to the phases / stages of an illness of an old woman through the vision of the granddaughter described by the report of the coexistence with her grandmother diagnosed with Alzheimer's, which include the discovery of disease, denial, insecurity, fear of death, suffering because of loss and anger, because this illness led one of the people she loved most CONCLUSION: Alzheimer's disease affects one person in the literal sense of the word, but it weakens every family. It damages a person's neurological system, modifying their everyday habits, mess with their memories, changing their personality and damaging their motor system, all in a silent and sneaky way. Your diagnosis needs to be done quickly and effectively, only then the treatment can begin and without it the symptoms worsen with speed and with vigor. The fear, insecurity, uncertainty and anger caused by an illness are the north of all work.
